Annotated Bibliographies
This handout provides guidelines for composing an annotated bibliography and explains crucial aspects such as the source’s content, usefulness, and topical relevance.  Care, accuracy, and intentionality are emphasized and encouraged.  A sample “Source/Research Log” is included to help in recording references accurately and avoiding plagiarism.
Grammar and Sentence Structure
Comma Usage

This handout details the three primary ways in which commas are used: listing and separating, separating introductory items, and setting off parenthetical statements. The piece also gives suggestions for avoiding usage errors.

Parallel Structure

This handout explains formatting within sentences and larger writing papers and has some suggestions for correcting problems with parallel structure.

Subject-Verb Agreement

This handout explains tense, number, and person. It also provides suggestions for "fixing" problems in agreement and details infinitive verbs and their proper treatment.

This handout provides instructions for creating an APA title page, the abstract, general formatting requirements, listing references, quoting and citing, and the School of Behavioral Sciences additional (Turabian) cover page. A sample paper is attached to give an example of a APA-style paper, but if you look closely, you'll notice that this paper also provides step-by-step instructions on how to navigate Microsoft Word in order to format your paper properly!

This handout is produced by the Annie Gabriel Library staff and provides more examples of how to cite various types of references according to the APA Publications Manual, 5th edition.

MLA Style Guide

This handout features requirements dealing with general style, quotations, works cited, and types of references.
