Comma Usage

This handout details the three primary ways in which commas are used: listing and separating, separating introductory items, and setting off parenthetical statements. The piece also gives suggestions for avoiding usage errors.

Parallel Structure

This handout explains formatting within sentences and larger writing papers and has some suggestions for correcting problems with parallel structure.

Subject-Verb Agreement

This handout explains tense, number, and person. It also provides suggestions for "fixing" problems in agreement and details infinitive verbs and their proper treatment.

This handout provides guidelines for composing an annotated bibliography and explains crucial aspects such as the source’s content, usefulness, and topical relevance.  Care, accuracy, and intentionality are emphasized and encouraged.  A sample “Source/Research Log” is included to help in recording references accurately and avoiding plagiarism.
