Stafford Loans

All CBU borrowers (new and continuing) for federal Direct Lending Stafford loans must complete the Loan Entrance Interview. This quick and easy interactive counseling session will help to ensure that you understand the responsibility and obligation you are assuming when borrowing this type of student loan. Each online session will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
 
Before the Financial Aid Office is able to disburse loan funds to your student account, we must have record that you have completed a Loan Entrance Interview.

Graduate Plus Loans

Graduate students borrowing a Graduate Plus loan on top of their federal Direct Stafford Loans are requried to complete an entrance counseling sessiong. The Graduate Plus entrance counseling session is in addition to the Stafford Loan Counseling Session.
 
Before the Financial Aid Office is able to disburse your Graduate Plus loan to your student account, we must have record that you have completed a Graduate Plus Loan Entrance Interview.

If you are graduating, dropping below half-time, or withdrawing from the university, AND borrowed a federal Stafford loan, you are required to complete a Loan Exit Counseling session.
 
Loan Exit Counseling provides you with deferment, forbearance and consolidation information if you decide to return to school or you are unable to make your payments for any reason. Explanations of the different repayment programs, repayment calculators, important terminology and several other valuable resources are also part of the process.

A Consolidation Loan allows you to combing one or more of your federal education loans into a new loan that offers you several advantages such as one monthly payment, flexible repayment options, and reduced montly payments. This is especially helpful if you have Stafford loans with multiple lenders.
