Description
Introductory study of solid and hazardous waste management and air pollution control. Study of solid and hazardous waste properties, sources, composition, magnitude, and regulations. Engineered solid waste management functional elements will be introduced. Landfilling methods including siting and modern landfill designs will be studied. Introduction to air pollution sources, quality, meteorology, atmospheric dispersion modeling, and control methods. Field trips are required. Prerequisite: EGR 453. (3 units; As offered)
