Description
Students at this level will move beyond survival English and learn to discuss topics, which may or may not be familiar and will learn to express more abstract concepts and ideas. Clarity and accuracy are emphasized more than in the previous two levels and as such, teachers will work to give students a greater understanding of how they can self correct and how they may correct their peers in order to further build their conversation skills. Intermediate students will learn more expressions, vocabulary and receive an introduction to idiomatic and colloquial language. Pass/Fail. Prerequisite: ESL029 or Placement Test. (1 unit; As offered)
