Description
The goal of the portfolio workshop is to help the student gather the material necessary for petitioning for prior learning credit and to assist in the presentation of the material. The prior learning portfolio is intended to be a thorough compilation of the student's prior learning. With guidance from the faculty, the student will develop a portfolio documenting college level learning which has been obtained outside of the traditional college classroom setting through work related training, professional experiences, and community involvement. Portfolio credit is awarded for learning that has taken place-not for experience. Therefore in addition to documenting experience, students are expected to articulate and demonstrate appropriate theory and terminology in their portfolio. (Portfolio credit can only be earned toward general elective credits and can not be earned in a student's major field of study.) (1 unit)
