Description
Students will develop an understanding of assessment, diagnosis, and management of adult patients who have experienced traumatic injury. Emphasis will be on understanding the kinematics of trauma and the potential for long-term disability. Additional topics will include concepts related to special populations, such as pregnant women. The course will enhance the leadership role of the student as part of an interdisciplinary trauma team in the acute treatment of patients and across the continuum of care.
