Theories of grief and loss, types of loss, and how grief impacts individual and family functioning are addressed, as well as current strategies to intervene with clients dealing with various types of loss. Specific attention is given to assessing and intervening with geriatric clients and their families suffering from loss in any form (loss of loved ones, abilities, youth, autonomy, etc.).
