A Letter Request

What is a Letter Request?
  • A letter request allows the Office of the University Registrar to release your academic information (e.g. degree or enrollment verification) to third parties. Letter requests will not be processed without the signature of the student.
 Students requesting course, grade, grade point average and other information contained on a transcript are encouraged to order a transcript.


  • Advance payment is required.
  • $3.00 per Letter Request
  • We accept cash, check, money order, Visa, MasterCard and Discover.

Degree Verification Letters

Degree Verifications Require Student Account Clearance. The Office of the University Registrar will be unable to provide Degree Verifications for any students with an outstanding balance.

Processing Time

What is the processing time for a Letter Request?

  • The letter request processing time is 3-5 working days. You may be contacted to provide additional information/documentation if needed. Completed requests can either be picked up in the Office of the University Registrar, mailed or faxed.

·        A photo ID is required when picking up your Letter Request.

·        If a third party is picking up your Letter Request then please provide their name on the Letter Request request form. Their photo ID will be required for pick-up.

·        Student requests received after 2:00 p.m. are considered received the following business morning.

·        Processing time is approximately 3-5 business days, and the Letter Request will be available after 10 a.m. on the day of pick-up.

Letter Request Policy and Form
  • All requests must be made by the student and must include his/her personal signature in compliance with federal regulations (Buckley Amendment).
  • A separate request form must be submitted for each third party a Letter Request is being released to.
  • Letter Request are not issued until all outstanding accounts with the University are paid.
  • Letter Requests with insufficient information, incomplete questions, may cause a delay in processing.

Does your lender need enrollment verification?
If so, first ask your lender to check with the National Student Clearinghouse. CBU reports enrollment to the clearinghouse multiple times a semester. If your lender does not check the clearinghouse then please submit a Letter Request or an Enrollment Verfication form along with a Letter Request to our office for processing.
