Description
This course covers the topics of classification of heat exchangers, design methods, single-phase convection correlations and two phase-correlations, pressure drop calculations, and fouling of heat exchangers. Study of various types of heat exchangers are also discussed, such as double pipe heat exchangers, shell-and-tube heat exchanger, compact heat exchangers, plate heat exchangers, condensers, and evaporators. Prerequisite: EGR 371 or 441. (3 units; As offered)
