Description

This course provides an in-depth exploration of the roles and responsibilities of school social workers, focusing on the application of social work principles and practices within the educational setting. candidates will develop skills in culturally responsive interventions, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the use of data to inform practice, all aimed at enhancing candidate performance and well-being, particularly among historically marginalized groups. Emphasis will be placed on ethical practice, advocacy, and the utilization of technology to protect confidentiality and promote candidate safety. Through a combination of lectures, case studies, group work, and field experiences, candidates will learn to effectively engage with candidates, families, educators, and communities to create equitable and supportive school environments.
