Students enrolled at CBU can install Microsoft Office on their personal computers at no cost through Microsoft’s Student Advantage program.

 
The program provides the full version of Office 365 ProPlus, including:
  • Word
  • Excel
  • PowerPoint
  • Outlook
  • ...and more!

Students can install the software on up to five Windows and Macintosh computers, and access Office mobile applications on iPhones, Android phones, and Windows phones.

The software can be used offline and has the same features and functions as other versions of Office. To verify continued eligibility, students must connect to the Internet once every 30 days.

The Student Advantage program is offered through Office 365/LancerMail system, provided by CBU in partnership with Microsoft.

Download and Install Office 365 ProPlus

  1. Go to office365.calbaptist.edu
  2. Log in using your student id and password
  3. Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner, and then select Office 365 settings
  4. Click Software in the left menu
  5. Select your desired Language
  6. If you are installing Office for Windows, Microsoft recommends using the 32-bit installation
  7. Click Install to download and install the latest version of Office

 

Frequently Asked Questions

How long may I use Office 365 ProPlus through Student Advantage?

Students enrolled for one or more credits at CBU are assigned an Office 365 ProPlus license. Students must connect to the Internet once every 30 days to verify they are still eligible for the program. Students who graduate or are no longer enrolled for credit after spring semester will lose their license shortly after the start of fall semester. Students who graduate or are no longer enrolled for credit after fall semester will lose their license shortly after the start of spring semester. Even after the license expires, students retain read-only access to their Microsoft Office files.

What is included with Office 365 ProPlus subscription license?

  • Office 365 ProPlus for PC (Office 2013 ProPlus base applications)
  • Office 365 ProPlus for Mac (Office 2011 for Mac base applications)
  • Office Mobile for iPhone
  • Office Mobile for Android

On how many devices may I install the software?

Each license allows you to install Microsoft Office on up to five computers. You can also run Office Mobile for Android or iPhone on up to five mobile devices.

Is this a full version of Office, available for offline use?

Yes. The software has the same features and functions as other versions of Office and can be used offline

CBU provides students with email accounts on Microsoft's Office365.
 
About Office365
Office 365 is a e-mail and collaboration services platform hosted by Microsoft. The service suite includes a 25GB e-mail account, calendaring, and additional features, all with enhanced reliability and a generous storage limit.

Apple iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch

  1. If this is the first e-mail account on this iPhone, iPad, or iTouch, tap Mail. Otherwise, tap Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Add Account.

 

  1. Select Microsoft Exchange.

 

  1. Enter the following account information.

 

              Email  Type your full email address, for example cbu.student@calbaptist.edu

              Username  type in your id#@calbaptist.edu

              Password  Use the password that you use to access your account.

             Domain      Leave this blank

             Description Optional – enter a description of the account, for example CBU Mail.

 

4.       Select Next on the upper right corner of the screen.

 

5.       Server box and enter your Exchange ActiveSync server name outlook.office365.com and then Next.

 

6.       Next .

 

7.       Choose the type of information you want to synchronize. By default, Mail, Calendar, and Contacts are all turned on. To turn off synchronization for a type of information, tap and slide the switch to OFF.

 

8.       Save . 

 

Android configuration

 

1.       From main menu, open Settings 

2.      Select Accounts.

3.      Select Add Account.

4.      Select Corporate Sync.

 

5.      Enter the following account information and select Next.

 

        Email - for example cbu.student@calbaptist.edu 

        Username - id#@calbaptist.edu

        Password - Use the password that you use to access your account.

        Domain -   Leave this blank.

 

 

6.       If you need to enter the server information manually.

        Exchange Server   Use this address for the Exchange server: outlook.office365.com.

7.       The following can be used to customize your Android phone for

 

        Email checking frequency The default value is Automatic (push). When you select this option, email messages will be sent to your phone as they arrive. We recommend only selecting this option if you have an unlimited data plan.

 

        Amount to synchronize This is the amount of mail you want to keep on your mobile phone. You can choose from several length options, including One day, Three days, and One week.

 

        Notify me when email arrives If you select this option, your mobile phone will notify you when you receive a new email message.

 

        Sync contacts from this account If you select this option, your contacts will be synchronized between your phone and your account.

 

8.       Select Next and then enter a name for this account and the name you want displayed when you send email to others.

          Select Done to complete the email setup and start using your account.
