The Facilities & Planning Services office strives:

"To provide an environment conducive to the intellectual and spiritual growth of the students of California Baptist University; at the same time, providing a means for staff and faculty to achieve these goals. The ultimate purpose is to send out CBU graduate students according to the Great Commission."

Meet The People Behind Facilities
This month we would like to introduce you to:

Robert Gurrola
Associate Director of Maintenance & Operations

Description of Duties: Oversees the maintenance and operations of the university and student housing.  This includes beautifying the campus grounds, making sure all building systems are in working order, and maintaining food venue facilities and equipment.

Did you know: I was a starting catcher for California Baptist University in 1987, previously known as CBC.
What is your FAVORITE TREE on campus? Let us know which tree you love and why – email to facilitiesadmin@calbaptist.edu. We will update our site every month with your pics and quotes on your “FAVORITE TREE”.

My favorite tree on campus is the Oak Tree north of the James single-story building. In my opinion, this tree has endured the test of time, with climate change, bugs, disease, droughts, and many more. But throughout its time, the tree has remained stout and beautiful.

This is my favorite tree because when my daughter was young she noticed a tree here in Riverside that looks like this there since then this has been called the spikey tree. Every time she sees this tree she points out there is the spikey tree dad.

Since 2014 CBU has been recognized by Tree Campus USA for being a Greener and Cleaner campus. We would like to THANK YOU for supporting our Arbor Day accomplishments.
