All students who may be eligible for education benefits should submit an application. The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs will review all applications and officially deny or grant benefits.
 


Montgomery G.I. Bill®--Active Duty (Chapter 30)

Eligible persons for this chapter have served at least 2 years active duty. Benefits become payable after 2 years continuous active duty and are not to exceed tuition and fees. Benefits are paid out on a monthly basis and extend up to 36 months. Benefits expire 10 years after discharge date.
 
Post 9/11 G.I. Bill® (Chapter 33)

Eligible individuals include those who serve on active duty at least 90 aggregate days beginning on or after September 11, 2001, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days of continuous service.

Yellow Ribbon Program

The Yellow Ribbon Program is a part of the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill benefits.  This program allows institutions of higher learning (degree granting institutions) in the United States to voluntarily enter into an agreement with VA to fund tuition expenses that exceed the annual $19,198.31 private institution cap.  The institution can contribute up to 50% of those expenses and VA will match the same amount as the institution. California Baptist University has elected to participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program. 

Montgomery G.I. Bill®--Selected Reserve (Chapter 1606)

Eligible persons have completed initial active duty for training and are an active reservist with a 6-year obligation. Benefits are paid out on a monthly basis and extend up to 36 months.

 
Dependents Educational Assistance DEA (Chapter 35)

Eligible persons are either the child (between the ages of 18-26) or surviving spouse of a veteran who is permanently and totally disabled due to a service related condition, who died in service, or who died of a service-connected disability. Benefits are paid out on a monthly basis and extend up to 45 months.

Reserve Education Assistance Program REAP (Chapter 1607)

Eligible persons have served 90 days or more active duty support of contingency operational full-time National Guard duty responding to a national emergency. Benefits are paid out on a monthly basis and extend up to 36 months.

Veterans Readiness & Employment (Chapter 31)

Eligible persons have received or will receive a discharge under other than dishonorable conditions, incurred or aggravated a service-connected disability which entitles them to VA disability compensation, and is in need of vocational rehabilitation because their disability creates an employment handicap. Benefits may be provided for up to 48 months.
